Evening Poem #5

Fall

It's the first day of fall in the desert.
We accelerate onto the freeway
and I roll the windows down.

The pureness of the day bursts through
loudly taking over all I can hear.

But it's your squeals and giggles that tickle my ears.
And as I look in the rear view mirror,
the only thing I can see is you smiling.
