I really would have expected the photo of the day to be a traditional 4th of July type picture - E in his annual tee, some of the delicious roasted tomatoes I made (thanks to having read the divine My Homemade Life by Molly Wizenberg), or of E swimming at Tia and Scott's (an annual tradition). But when all was said and done, it was this picture that took the top prize.
