So my friend Carolyn and I have planned this wicked-awesome birthday road trip to LA to see our new comedy boyfriend Mike Birbiglia and I offered to drive and all and then got saddled with the news at my car check up that I would need new tires before driving across the state. Of course the tires are a rare size and style that my make and model of car just started using the year I purchased my car. Of course the tires cost more than the whole trip (times 8). Of course Carolyn is awesome and offers to drive and I can defer the budgetary impact a couple of weeks. This way, there's no budget or tire blowout and we can still plan on a totally cool weekend.
